Carlos M. Morales is a composer, instrumentalist, and synth sound designer based in Los Angeles, California. His multi-genre work integrates hybrid scoring by using electronic composition, raw instrumentals, and orchestral elements while drawing from his Latin roots and background as a rock musician. His sonic vision blends organic performance with bold expansive textures, crafting immersive soundscapes that have resonated emotionally and cinematically with audiences around the world.
Carlos’ credits span acclaimed TV, documentary, and feature films, including work as synthesizer sound designer and multi-instrumentalist in Netflix’s Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things the First Shadow, Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami, Naomi Osaka, Our Planet II and A Year on Planet Earth. He contributed extensively as an additional composer on Netflix’s American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden, I Just Killed My Dad, Pegalo Pictures’ American Skyjacker, and independent film Freedom on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom, which received a best score Emmy nomination in 2024. He also produced original genre-blending EDM songs for Queer Planet, which earned a 2025 BMI Streaming Documentary award, and wrote and recorded music for the High Roller Heist podcast.
Carlos has closely collaborated with composers such as Ryan Shore, Edward Shearmur, Lucas Vidal, and Jasha Klebe. A Film Scoring graduate of Berklee College of Music, he has combined his rigorous training and study with creative boldness to forge music that lives and breathes beyond convention.
